The newest Fast and Furious series film, Fast X, is an exciting action film that will please series fans. Series regulars Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris, and Jordana Brewster accompany Vin Diesel as he reprises his role as Dominic Toretto, the patriarch of the crime family at the heart of the franchise. This time around, though, they must contend with a new antagonist played by Jason Momoa.
Momoa’s gang takes a crucial piece of equipment from Dom’s team, and this theft drives the storyline of Fast X. Dom. His crew must join up with an old acquaintance (John Cena) and embark on a series of daring heists and high-stakes automobile chases to recover it. As the two factions fight to control the streets, tensions rise, and the action never stops.
The scale of the spectacle in Fast X distinguishes it from other films in the series. There are more spectacular vehicle chases, louder explosions, and more mind-blowing feats than ever before. Director Justin Lin, who has overseen some of the series’ best chapters, is back with another exciting and aesthetically gorgeous installment.
Quick X also benefits from a stellar ensemble cast. Newcomers Momoa and Cena are great additions to the form while returning cast members Diesel and Rodriguez are as charming and entertaining as ever. Particularly threatening to Dom and his crew is the villain, played by Momoa, who lends a searing intensity to the character.
Fans of the Fast and Furious films know that the films are about more than simply high-octane car chases and explosions. Quick X also succeeds in this regard, with several touching sequences that delve into the relationships between the various characters. The importance of family has been a motivating element throughout the series and continues to be so here.
Not that there aren’t any problems with Fast X. The story is OK, and some of the lines of dialogue are pretty corny. Yet these are trivial complaints about a film whose primary goal was to provide nonstop action and thrills.
Ultimately, Fast X is an excellent addition to the Fast series. It has the action, spectacle, and family values regular viewers have come to expect and anticipate, and it does it on a grander scale than ever before. You should take advantage of the newest installment if you like the series.
